Put God at the center.

Put God at the center.

I have been thinking about this idea for awhile. The place where we need to have God is at the center. If God is in the middle of your life, then everything connected to you will be just fine. Think about it, if God is in the middle, and you have a bad day???? God is still there. If you have a bad break up…… God is still there. If your parents are mad or your in trouble …… GOD is still there. If you get a good report card, YES, God is there.

But the problem is that sometimes we put other things in God’s spot, like money, dating and video games, and when we do that it makes life hard when those things don’t come through like we thought. If you BF or GF is in the center and you break up……. There is nothing but emptiness.

I was reading Job, he had God at the center, and when everything was taken away and when everything fell apart, God was still there.

Some Questions for this JH service April 18
Written by Eddie
Wednesday, 14 April 2010

Hey guys,

I know I can put this in the blog because no one reads it..... LOL here are the questions for this Sunday's (April 18) lesson. This is for those who are in the group.

1. What is the main principle of stewardship? 2. Name characteristics and lifestyle choices of a person who embraces the principle of stewardship. 3. How would you counsel a person whose only purpose in life was making money or that only does things for themselves? 4. How does seeing your job as an "occupational ministry" change your whole emphasis on working or sports or school? 5. How can you begin to live up to the challenge to "do what you can"?

Back in Time

If you missed Back in Time last night then I'm sooorrrrry!!  We had a great time.  Record attendence with both adults, some parents, and students.

Thanks to everyone who came out and witnessed a small example of what the Church should look like, everyone together and no one with need. I believe Christ is starting to talk to us all in The 7:12.  We are witnessing the beginnings of the plan that He has laid out for us all.

You guys stay faithful, talk with Him daily, and get to know Him more intimately.  He is right there, relevant to right now, and wanting to show you the way.

Have a great week and Yeah God.

Walking in the Spirit

Galatians 5:16-25

The Holy Spirit is one of God's most precious gifts to His beloved children. He takes up residence within the believer at the moment of salvation and empowers him to overcome sin and live for God's glory and purposes. However, the Spirit's power can be "turned off" or ignored. Only those who choose to walk with Him have unhindered access to His strength and guidance.

Walking by the Spirit denotes reliance upon Him. He leads the way, and we follow. As He speaks, we listen, heed His warnings, and obey His directions. The Spirit's way is a path of surrender which, although difficult, leads to fullness of life.

God's Spirit not only guides; He also empowers because the challenge of obeying Him is impossible in our own strength. The Holy Spirit supplies everything we need to live a godly life, and He produces His amazing fruit in us.

Being led by the Spirit should be the natural lifestyle of the sons and daughters of God. As you intentionally seek to maintain an awareness of His presence throughout the day, He is only a thought away. When your mind turns to Him, He gives sensitivity to the things of God and understanding about the situations and people in your life.

Take a walk with the Spirit today, and learn to know His voice. Whenever your mind is not occupied with the duties of the day, focus your thoughts on Him, asking for His guidance and looking expectantly for His leading. When He gives it, rely on His power to obey.

How has this happened in your life???

For me when I get stressed out or I am too busy, I forget to let the Holy Spirit guide me, I have block him out. It is hard, I know, but that whole "stop and smell the roses" thing, well sometimes you just have to slow down and breath. Let God have a moment of your time, let the Holy Spirit take over for a second. When I let this happen....... I feel so much better.

Hope and Faith
Written by Eddie
Monday, 22 February 2010

Do you guys know the difference between hope and faith? I thought I did. I thought I had faith in God and Jesus. I also had faith the Cowboys would make it into the Superbowl.  So that was where I got confused, I didn’t know it at the time but I was not thinking in God’s word.

So I looked it up, I found in Hebrews 11:1 Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

Wow, that kind of spoke to me, because I lost my Grandfather last year. I knew this man, my Dad’s Dad, was strong in his faith, he was always praying and talking to God.

I asked him one day “Grandpa, how do you know you’re going to Heaven?”

“Eddie I know because I have Faith.” A somewhat simple answer but it was the way he said it, he really BELIEVED he was going to Heaven.

I used to say “I hope I see you in Heaven,” like I hope the Rangers do well this year or I hope I do well on a math test.

I think the difference is in the Belief. If you believe, truly believe with all your heart. This is Faith, and Faith is stronger than hope.
